After 60 years as ‘The Guide Hall’ this local landmark is now managed by the Como West Community Garden Inc. All proceeds from the hire of the Hall go towards the general maintenance and upkeep of the venue and it’s surrounds.
Did you know?
The Guide Hall was built in the early 1950’s, at 11 Yamba Road and served as a mechanics workshop for Harry Bargwanna. By the end of the decade Harry was ready to expand his operation and gifted the hall to the Girl Guides. It was dismantled and reassembled in its current position where it has stood ever since.

How to Hire
First, read and familiarise yourself with our hall hire venue terms. The terms have important information about your booking and can also be downloaded.
Then click the ‘Book now’ link below to visit our online booking site. When there:
- Select your date and times in the calendar and click the Book button.
- Party bookings have 4 hour minimum please.
- Party bookings should include set up, pack up & time to clean the hall.
- Please do not access hall outside booking times.
- Confirm your booking details;
*In the NOTES section of the confirmation page, please write your purpose for hiring the hall, for example ‘daughters 5th birthday party’.
- Check the box to confirm you have read and agree to abide by the hall hire venue terms.
- Make your payment online using credit card.
- You will receive a confirmation email with instructions about key collection and other venue information.
