About Us
The Como West Community Garden is all about getting together to grow food, meet new people, learn, and most importantly have fun. The group has secured an extended lease on the grounds of the Guide Hall, Cnr Warraba & Mulyan Sts Como. Our vision is to develop a productive food garden as well at establishing native garden beds on the site.
We will also be running community events throughout the year so keep an eye out. We post details of planned events here, in the Garden Journal on our website and on our Facebook site
Everyone is welcome to participate. We organise activities for members and non members. No experience is required to become a member and join in our garden sessions or working Bees, just enthusiasm and a smile. Garden sessions take place weekly on a Sunday between 2 and 4 pm and cancelations are advertised on our Facebook page. Working Bees occur less frequently at other times on weekends.
The Como West Community Garden is also the proud custodian of the Guide Hall which is available for hire! It’s great for kids parties, and for smaller community activities. All proceeds from the hire of the hall go towards the maintenance and upkeep of the Hall and it’s surrounds.
